Just like there are two sides to every coin, the FLIP SIDE is an opposite viewpoint to the political topic being discussed at hand. Our goal is to have a news site that is appealing to all Americans, regardless of political view. We will always try to offer two points of view to our opinion articles whenever we can.

New Hampshire Law Points Out the Obvious

New Hampshire Law Points Out the Obvious

New Hampshire is the first state to adopt the Jury Nullification Law. In a nutshell, the law allows attorneys to explain to the jury that if individuals don’t agree with the specific law that the charges are based on or how they were applied in the case, each juror can refuse to convict, even if the accused was technically guilty of said charges. To me, the Founding Fathers wanted this for America. A trial among your peers. If your peers don’t agree with the law that you are being charged with, they can choose not to convict, even if the evidence against the defendant is overwhelming “beyond a reasonable doubt” (more…)

Tenth Amendment Alive and Well in Montana

The powers that are not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people – Tenth Amendment of the Bill of Rights. Think for a minute…that statement reads that if the Constitution doesn’t give the power to the Federal government, then the States and the people have the power to decide what’s best for them. People may not know everything about the Bill of Rights, but most know it protects them from the Federal Government. Folks don’t realize the States have all the power, but the state of Montana does. Qualifications to be President: Preparedness and Anticipation

Ron Paul and Mitt Romney are the only two Republican Presedential candidates that are allowed on the Virginia Primary ballot because all other candidates could not get the required signatures. VA’s Attorney General initially called for an “emergency law” allowing the rest of the GOP field to be added; however, the Attorney General changed his mind. Considering the fact that the due date to get the required signatures passed, it was ridiculous to change a law in the middle of a campaign season. Instead of talking about this potential law, I would like to talk about the candidates who did not qualify. How Dogma Controls Americans

How Dogma Controls Americans

What is a dogma?  Although this term is used mostly in reference to religion, dogmas are all around us. There are all too many in day to day life. “It is what it is”, they say. My question is: Are we robots? What I am referencing are the things that we shouldn’t ask about, question, or even bring up in the first place.  Do we not have a brain with which to ask questions? Also, isn’t our learning enhanced by plenty of information to study, which enables us to make ‘educated’ decisions on our own? Are Americans on a guided path with no hope of changing course, all because of dogma? Republicans Get Taste of the Medicine They Prescribe to 3rd Parties

Last week a beautiful thing happened in Virginia. All the Republican Presidential candidates, except for Ron Paul and Mitt Romney, got to taste their own medicine…the same medicine the GOP, along with the Democrats, have been giving 3rd parties for decades. I’ve said many times that we’re all Americans first before we register for a political party. So, I’m not taking a side other than the American side. I’ve talked about the difficulty of getting on the ballot if you are not GOP or DEM in a previous article about “Americans Elect”. For decades, the 3rd parties’ cries of  foul play have fallen on deaf ears. (more…)

Is Christmas an American Holiday?

Is Christmas an American Holiday?

Americans have mixed feelings about Christmas. Forget about the fact that Christmas is a national holiday; that is not what I am talking about. Despite what some people think, Christmas is an American holiday just like Thanksgiving is. December 25th is also a religious holiday for those that choose to celebrate it that way. I know, I can feel the hate coming from all directions. Don’t blame me for pointing out the obvious. Why is there a Christmas grey area? Some say, “it’s a Christian holiday and I’m not Christian.” Others say, “it’s a Christian holiday that’s been overrun by mainstream America”. (more…)

It’s Not Obama’s Fault Where The Economy Is

It’s Not Obama’s Fault Where The Economy Is

There is a general consensus in the air that Obama is not popular. You don’t need to look at the polls to see this. So why is he unpopular? I believe it is because the average person has a short-term memory. People are truly worried about how they are going to pay their bills. Why are they worried about this? It is not the unemployment rate, even though the true unemployment numbers are probably closer to 20%. (The average the government talks about is those claiming benefits and forgets about those who cannot receive benefits or who have exhausted them). So then what are people worried about? (more…)

Justice Party Mobilizes to Change the Nation

A brand new political party just formed on the 12th of December 2011, it is called the Justice party. I find this exciting. It’s the American spirit burning inside. This is what our country was founded upon. If you don’t like the way something is going, you do something about it. That is what the formation of the Justice party is, a protest against the current political climate in this country. It doesn’t matter what party you identify with…you can see and feel American’s discontentment with our elected officials. The Justice party is rapidly gaining patriotic Americans who identify themselves with the beliefs of the party. (more…)

How to Understand Taxpayer Cost of the Military

It is difficult for many people to even start to wrap their heads around the cost of our military. Some people don’t even understand that our taxes pay for the military. The following infographic looks at the amount of taxpayer dollars spent funding specific military equipment. It then compares these prices to items that the average American can relate to. By doing this, US citizens can see how their tax money is being used by the government compared to alternatives such as spending it on homes, education and health insurance. How to Find 83472 Missing in Action US Soldiers

I understand that there are instances where our national security might be at risk and the government needs to keep something a secret. Not only is this understandable, but I think it is common sense. However, why does it take almost 70 years to get declassification of information relating to missing and unaccounted-for military members from World War II, or any modern conflicts through the Cold War? This includes the Vietnam War and Korean War. What can be so important to our national security that the families of 73,690 WW II soldiers MIA cannot have closure by finding out where their loved ones are? (more…)
